Garden Questions

The area in which i had my garden is not going to be my run for the 12 chickens I have. the area is a 15' x 20'. I was wondering if I'm fighting a losing battle trying to plant a few vegatable plants inside the run. It just seems to empty to me, but I don't want to waste my time and money planting a garden if the chickens are going to destroy it anyway.

The chickens will destroy any plants in there. Only plant crops that you want to feed the chickens

INSIDE the run!!! They will destory anything you plant.

leaf lettuce is a good crop. sometimes it will keep regrowing if it doesn't get taken out by the roots. saves you on some feed too!

if you can, plant around the outside edges of the coop so the birds have limited access through the fence.

anything in the rose family-raspberries and strawberries are good. i have lots of wild growing alpine strawberries where my coop/run is going.
