Its that time of year again! I cant wait to start my seeds this week!

So everybody below write what you are planting and some new ideas for what I can plant, besides the usual corn, tomatoes, peppers, and cucumbers ect..

So get your gardening gloves and shovels and get ready to GARDEN!

But I like tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers! And don't forget the summer squash and bush beans. I don't plant potatoes, onions or carrots. With only a 20X25' area for garden it makes no sense to plant inexpensive root veggies.

What I'm looking forward to this year is my first big harvest from our 30 asparagus crowns. It'll be our third year after putting in 2 year old crowns. Only a few meals last year, thinking we'll have plenty to freeze and eat fresh this go round.

Egghead, I challenge you to plant JUST one potato plant. The cheap potatoes that you can buy at the grocery store are a completely different vegetable than the one that you can snag out of the garden... from under the mulch... and leave the rest of the potatoes to continue growing.

It's always gardening time here but I love the spring veggies especially pod peas and asparagus most of all.

I can't dig like I used to so I am planting my potatoes in 50 gallon barrels cut in half without bottoms. I am planting yellow fins, a blue (all the way through!) and red skin in a mixture of hay. mushroom compost and soil.
