Gardening with chickens

Spent the day the day a few days ago fighting.........I mean gardening with my chickens. I'm sure you know who this story ends.

Yeah - That's right. Gardening with chickens. It does not work. They help themselves to way more than I would like.

Mine started off just pulling weeds for me. They get carried away on what are weeks and what are pretty flowers or veggies. Kindof like gardening with my DBF. "I thought they were weeks!"

when my lettuce was bigger than my chickens it was safe. the girls actually helped keep the bugs down. one day the leader showed the flock that arugula was still edible even after the bugs were eaten off, it's like cake with no icing, still cake. now the geese do my weeding, the chickens my compost.

ha! try rototilling the garden you can't even turn around the chickens are swarming after all the worms!!!

I had to look up this post since I finally uploaded some pictures. Fluffy was eyeballing this freshly planted flowers. I went inside and busted him having a nibble. The second picture was taken from inside my house.
