Gargen Cart Coop

Has anyone built a coop on top of a lawn and garden cart base? Some of the carts have a heavy capacity load and utilizing one for a small coop on wheels would be cheaper than buying the wheels alone. I'm just looking for ideas. Thanks.

Hadn't seen it, but if you try and post pictures everyone else will benefit from your try.

Remember in the coop each hen is recommended to have 4 square feet of space and at least 6 inches each hen on a roost bar, and 10 square feet per bird in the run if they are in a run.

Not sure how you wold clean it- are you cutting it in half and stretching it out with huge bolts and lumber? Or buying two?

I'm looking for ideas and advice form others that have done this. Evidently, no one has. Just something I was kicking around.

Here is the one that my husband built: This shot is with all the doors open.



It did end up being too small for my needs. I have used it for 5 Delawares, opening it during the day so they could range. Now, I use it as a brooder sometimes. Some of the manure drops through the mesh base. The rest I have to scrape out.

I would think that if you simply used it for the base and built a small coop on top (just like those cute one built up on legs with a run underneath) then you could set up doors or drawers or shelves or whatever you want to use for easy cleaning.
Search through the chicken tractor section. There are dozens and dozens of ideas in there. Surely someone has done something close to what your thinking about.
