Gas in 3 week old Pigeon crop

For hand feeding older babies like yours I just get a bag of frozen green peas from the groc. store and thaw them in warm water. This is convenient bc it provides food and water at once and no grit is needed. It takes about 30peas to fill them up. I try to give them half that in the morning if crop is empty and let them try to eat seeds during the day. Then if they are hungry at evening I fill them up.

If he's eating seeds on his own it's good if the mix contains dried field peas or maple peas, good protein....

By this age he would be getting seeds and grit when fed by his parents. When they begin to eat seeds they need grit and he's not getting any from his parents. I sprinkle some fine grit in with the seeds so that he will be sure to get some as he eats.
