Any of you all getting really crappy gas mileage in your cars? I'm trying to figure out if its just me or everyone else. I think I'm getting much worse gas mileage than I should be getting.

Got full tank on Friday. Its a 20 gallon tank. I've gone about 5-6 miles a day for the last 3 days. I'm missing 3 gallons if I go by the meter... but my car should get about 20 mph. I should only be missing 1 gallon.

You might need a lock on your gas cap

After reading IgorsMistress' post - also check for gas on the ground under the gas tank.

If you can find gas without ethanol, it would help with better milage and lower non-gas operating costs but it doesn't make this much difference in gas milage.

People could be siphoning your gas. Or the gas is different and goes quicker(I wouldn't be surprised if "they" did something different to the gas)

I agree a locking gas cap is a necessity. Is the maintenance up to date? How old is the vehicle? Do smell you smell gas and how old is your gas cap? Are you burning oil?

Fuel meters are not linear. By that the meter does not move equally to the amount of fuel used. Not one to one.

I switched to diesel. It's true: the mileage is amazing compared to gas. Cars always are Toyota. Great mileage. Keep it serviced and tyres to correct pressure.

I think its the ethanol being added. We have a place here where we can get gas without ethanol. I have never been, but thinking about checking it out.
