gasping hen

Hi. Can anyone help please. My 20 weekk speckled hen Josie has been very quiet and sleepy girl for a few days and is often on her own which is unusual. Today she is gaping a lot and seems to be struggling to keep her eyes open. she is eating and drinking but doesnt appear to be preening herself or scrabbling about like the other girls. None of them are laying yet. Hope someone can advise me.

you may want to put GAPEWORM in the search box and see if it seems she has some of the symptoms.

Thanks for all the advice. I think in the end Josie is just heat intolerant as it was a very hot day. She is thankfully now absolutely fine. Eagerly awaiting our first eggs still. Girls 23 weeks old today.
