Gave my 2 a new treat

The 2 formerly stray birds that I have really haven't had the interesting treats normally given to pet chickens so they've been eyeing me funny when I bring in something new.
Today was the butternut squash treat. I had one left from the garden that was a bit mushy so I quartered it and placed into the treat bowl.

They've been staring at it for an hour. The roo is talking to it in a low growl type sound and the hen is keeping her distance.

Well to make up for the squash monster I tried a nice, ice cold (it's almost 100 out here today) way over ripe plum..........

Nope, still got the 'look'.

I decided to try something else, turned over one of the dog houses and caught 2 geckos. That made them happy! Roo snatched one right from my hand as soon as he saw it but the hen is still a bit afraid of me and took a few minutes to take the squirming thing from between my fingers.
