Gazebo coop coming along - update pics page 8

ok, here are the bones of the inside, not as beautiful as the outside . . . YET! but I love the functionality of this design a big thanks to BYC member CYANNE for coming up with it.
So, there are roost perches on top over the poop catch trays and space for nest boxes underneath. They will only be able to get to the nest boxes during the day so the roost poop issue there is fixed. There is another nest box behind the closed door and another set of two on the other side of coop.
Tomorrow I'll finish up the top half of them and then do the smaller silkie roosts/nest boxes across the back.
The good news is the girls already love the nest box areas, they were checking them out and talking about them all day. Everytime I start the drill gun they come running to see what I'm working on now!

That's is really going to be a great looking coop and great addition to your yard. Not your typical chicken coop by any means.

I noticed in this pic, it looks like you used chicken wire. Is it on the underside of the roof or is it covering that vent?

If the chicken wire is covering the vent, I would really be worried about a coon climbing up and chewing through that wire to get to your little ones.

Hardware cloth would be so much safer.

oh no I live closer, I get to steal it!

uh oh . . . LOL, do I know you? well if I do or not get over here and help!

Ahhh just got home from a late meeting. No we haven't met, but it is nice to know you are just around the block (well almost).
How is your treasure coming? It is going to be so beautiful. I am happy for you.

Good eyes sweetcheeks! Yes that is the vent, no it's not chicken wire it's actually black plastic, Just for looks. I will be going behind it with hardware cloth tomorrow and also along under the eves. I had a mink disaster earlier this year and that will not be happening again! Thank you for taking the time to point that out though!

Oh, you must have some of the residual minks from the old Star mink farm.

Bad, very bad. I had one live under my house years ago. They smell horrible.
