Has not been much chatter on this thread. I've never been to a poulty show. What time is good for showing up? I'm just looking for general information about raising chickens tomorrow. More cost effective feed, pest control, who lays what and how well. And where at the Fresno Fair is it?

Karen (@sewandgrow) and I (Jules) will be there around 10ish with another chicken fancier friend. We will be wandering around the main barn & sales area. I will be carrying a large purple bag & wearing some great chicken earrings that Karen makes if you want to stop & say Hi. It would be nice to meet up & make some new like-minded friends

If you are looking to buy some birds, you will want to get there as early as possible - doors open at 8am. The sales area will be pretty crowded & noisy as everyone checks out what's being offered. They usually have boxes for sale, but I'd bring my own if you have them. I'm trying to be good & not buy anything, but am still bringing a cage/carrier just in case...I always buy breeder's raffle tickets so you never know

Breeders donate birds for a raffle. Bridgette Little donates a lot of nice birds & so do some others. You can buy tickets for a chance to win the birds of your choice. Sometimes pairs or even trios.
