Geese dogs and chickens

I have chickens and am about to get 2 goslings will they get along okay free ranging in the same 1/2 acre? I also have dogs that come down and check on the chickens with me. If the geese are raised with the dogs around will they be okay with it?

The only issue you may have is during feeding time. When you feed the chickens and geese, be sure to feed the geese first... if you feed the chickens first, the geese will rush to the food and not let the chickens eat. if you appease the geese first, the chickens will have time to eat. As for the dogs, it's hard to say what will happen. My geese actually pick on the dogs when they get to close.

Watch the chickens with the babies. We raised six goslings and kept them in a pen. As I was bringing them in, one of our chickens pecked the eye of one of the babies. It happened so fast, I could not have stopped it, so we have a half blind goose. She's about 2-3 years old now and functions well, but she's not as safe as she should be.

How sad about the eye! We have a dog with one eye thanks to a mean cat! After a cat punctured his eye he developed glaucoma, and we had to have the eye removed. He's doing great but it is still so sad!
