Geese egg's taking a while from pip

Goose eggs can take a couple of days from pip to zip. I've only done ducks but they're the same. Infuriatingly slow. Haha! It's important not to intervene while they're still absorbing the yolk, 'cause they're not ready for the world yet.
What you *can* do is make sure their pip-hole has gone through the membrane. I usually check each egg and prick the membrane open if it's still intact, so that they have enough air. (don't remove shell or make the hole bigger, just make sure they can breathe the outside air)

How harmful opening the machine is depends on the machine and how fast it'll go back to high humidity and the correct temp. It's usually fine, they're not gonna dry out from half-an-hour of lower humidity. You can spray hot water down before closing if you're worried.
