Geese feeder - Spring/bolt style feeder

I've been looking for a different style feeder other than a bowl which gets dumped on the ground. I saw a spring attached to the underside of a bucket that was said to be a "Spring Feeder" but can't find any in the United States. Then I saw a barrel with bolts sticking out much like the spring. Both required the chickens to peck at the protruding items for the feed to be dispensed onto the ground. I was wondering if geese could be fed with this set up? And whether it was a good idea or bad? Thanks

Geese don't really peck for food they do "gnaw", but I'd have a tough time thinking they would go for it. I have some larger holes for buckets I've made. I also have open larger black plastic bowls on the ground.

I made my own pvc fittings for some lowes buckets under 15 dollars for 3 of them. You would want to make sure the geese know where the food is but they seem to like the buckets especially since it keeps the food out of weather.
