Went by the Big R off Baptist Road in Colorado Springs today.
They are doing buy 1 get 1 free on their geese (had lots of ducks, chicks and turkeys too).
Think the price for 1 goose was 9 something.

So I know this thread is a little 'aged' but I'm hoping someone might know where in Colorado I could get a Juvenile/adult goose?
I have a 1 year old American Buff and she needs a companion (preferably another girl).

Best to look in the sales thread or on the American Buff thread you may find someone to help you.

I looked a bit in the sales thread. For some reason I have the worst time navigating the 'buy sell trade' part of the site. That said, I did see a lot of goslings for sale, but not local and I think it would be wiser to get an adult.

:) I'll ask in the American Buff thread though, thats a good idea.

Thanks again Livin :D

I had a quick look, too. Didn´t see anything. What about asking in your local feedstore? They often know of people who keep geese.
When I was looking for more geese, i just drove around looking for farms that had them, and asking in feedstores until someone could help...one feedstore told me about someone that used to have geese, so I went there...he had some left, and was happy to let me have some.
Or is there a rescue place near you?
Or why not a couple of goslings? They´re wonderful fun. Your goose would get used to them and probably take over the care of them after a short time.

I'll try the feed store, they might even let me post a little 'wanted poster' type thing.

There is one rescue I've seen post on Craigslist a few times about taking unwanted farm animals. I might call them to see if they have any to re-home.

I'm not sure if Nini would adopt a gosling or not, she's never been broody so far. I'm going to keep an eye out for adult(ish) geese for now but if the feed store got some goslings in I might be too tempted to pass it up :)

Sounds good, I hope you have success.

Hello everyone, I'm in the Fort Collins, CO area! I just recently rescued a beautiful white chinese X embden gander from a local lake. Sadly, someone abandoned this goose and his buddy there. His friend had already died by the time I found him, so I needed to get him out of there, and I did. He's been staying right next to my 8 little runner ducks for the past three days. If you want to see the whole story, here is the original thread: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/920862/is-this-a-dumped-domestic-goose

I am unable to take on an extra mouth to feed right now, so I'm looking for someone who can give this guy a good life. Please let me know if you would like to adopt him... I will give him to you for free (I also have a bag of Nutrena All Flock to go with him). He has been a very sweet gander so far, and I'm sure he'll stay that way with the proper care and a knowledgable owner.

With the help of the goose folks here on BYC, we've been able to take good guesses at his gender, breed, age, and health status:

-Gender: Male (Gander)
-Breed: White Chinese, Embden Cross
-Age: Around 1 year
-Health Status: Good, he has not shown any signs of illness or injury
-Temperament: This goose has been very sweet to me, and not aggressive

I ask that you are experienced in keeping waterfowl (ideally geese) so that you know how to give him a good life. Please contact me. PM is fine or a response to this thread or the original thread. Here is the beautiful guy:
