Hi there I got two African geese females and 1 gander white Chinese goose. The females are laying eggs, but I never see the male gander breed, but I do see him breed a white Pekin duck. The two female geese are laying in the same spot and every morning I see them laying eggs in the nest. I am not concern about that because I know they will share responsibilities. I am just wondering will a Chinese goose breed a African goose and or will he just favor his girlfriend the duck. Thank you

Welcome to BYC. Yes he will breed an African goose and produce viable offspring; however, if he has formed a pair bond with the duck he may not. I would separate him from the duck if I really wanted goslings.

You never know what the geese are up to when you aren't looking. I was completely convinced my one goose was avoiding the ganders then one day, her eggs in the incubator were fertile! I think she had just decided to keep her breeding private. Never saw them together. If you have both adult male and female geese, something is happening.
