Geese to keep Hawks at bay?

So I was using StumbleUpon and it lead me to a blog where this lady bought Geese because she heard they will scare Hawks away. Sad story, she lost her 3 baby geese and the two adults she bought to replace them turned out very mean.

Do Geese keep Hawks away? Do any other fowl keep them away?

I have turkeys that freerange with my chickens. They pretty much ignore the hawks.....except one. She will chase ANY bird out of the barn lot. She will take on the world if she is raising chicks. She LOVES us though. She likes to be held every time we go to the barn, chicks or no chicks.

Hm. Does any animal keep hawks away, as in, the hawks see this animal and the hawk doesn't bother, by just seeing it?

If the adult geese where with the chickens, ducks etc. I really don't think a hawk would bother. When my gander is out with the other birds I feel confident he's a pretty good deterent to hawks, but probably not coyotes or other large predators.
