Geico, the Crested Gecko. *DUW*

Sure, and you'd provide lots of things to climb on to utilize the most of the tank, hopefully. You could keep two in there if you made sure they were the same gender. They certainly are cheaper than a sw aquarium . . . yeesh. I have a friend who started his own business building and setting up people's aquatic ecosystems, and I can't believe the amount of money it takes just to get the water right. They sure are pretty, though

You cannot keep two male Cresteds together for very long.. they will almost always fight to the death of one or both ...and someone will definitely get bullied away from the food.

I've kept males together up to about 15g each ..then it begins and it gets progressively uglier with each battle.

Females can usually be kept together without issue, but even that scenario should be closely monitored. And please don't keep a male and female together until they are BOTH of breeding age and weight.

I've never had a problem with it, and I've had them for years. They don't fight unless a female is present, or if the tank is too small.

I'm not trying to start one of the infamous ill debates here, but I have been breeding for years and have had a few Cresteds in my care ...and the female presence has no factor in the fighting, other than increasing the viciousness.

A 23 gallon tank is small for one adult Crested, as well.

It is always best to err on the side of caution when keeping animals in captivity... they deserve that much.

I grew up with geckos running wild on the walls and ceiling. They are so cool when they lick their eyeballs!
My mom didn't appreciate them when they would get in fights on the ceiling and suddenly PLOP down on the floor or worse, on the arm of her chair!
There was one that for years would come up and drink from my dad's after dinner coffee cup. He got to the point he didn't wait for my dad to finish and go to bed, he helped himself as soon as the cup hit the table! (did I mention, my dad always had a shot of Amaretto De Saronno in his after dinner coffee?) At a beach bar I worked at we had one behind the bar we called Jose. He was an alcoholic and would sneak drinks from the shot glasses. I don't know how many times I had to fish him out of the dishwater cuz he'd get drunk and fall in!

Crested geckos are also called "Eyelash" geckos for the obvious reasons.

Only problem with this type of gecko is when startled they drop their tails.
freak out factor of a tailess crested ? they look like tree frogs while stuck to the glass
eww eww run away!!!!

I'll edit your post to say female presence may or may not have a factor in fighting, as it seems to depend on the geckos. My cresteds clearly have very different personalities, or aggression triggers, than yours do.

I will agree with the rest of your post, though. 20 gallons is the recommended minimum for one crested, but if you can get them a room sized aquarium that's even better. Bigger is better is true for any animal. And you can keep two healthy in a 20 gallon, if it comes down to it, but I won't vouch for their overall happiness.
