gelatin-like dropping? *update*

Here is a link to chicken poo pics and it tells you what is normal or not. Maybe a good idea to take a look to see if any of these look familiar.

If you decide it is in fact cocci, I would recomend Ampro or Corid. Sulmet is good but worse on their little systems, but sometimes our feed stores don't give us a choice. And yes if you treat, treat all of them.

I disagree- that looks to me like poop from a bird not getting enough food, and I think you may have sour crop going on- smell her mouth- does it stink?

Hi all, I'm not even sure that the droppings pic I posted are her droppings, but more an assumption. The first post I put up here today was before she was acting this bad.

I looked at the poop chart (what has my life become?) and the pic I took this morning and posted, looks like the normal poop on the bottom right hand side of the chart.

She does not smell funny around her beak. What makes you suggest sour crop?

She did have a movement a little while ago and it was all water with a slight bit of fecal matter

I just went out in the yard and she is picking around the grass. She doesn't make much of an effort to runaway when I go to pick her up. I guess I have a couple of questions that I need answered:

1) Will she act strange when she's about to lay for the first time?
2) Is it OK for them to just act tired sometimes?
3) If it is indeed cocci, would every dropping be bloody?
4) Is it ok to treat her for cocci anyway?

If you all think I should treat for that, great, I'll do it.

Thanks again. Does anyone on here ever have phone conversations to help people out?

The only poo pic I question is your last one. I would just keep an eye on it for a bit.

To check if her crop is working right, you could bring her in and fast her for the night to make sure it goes down the way it's suppose to.

Is she low in the pecking order? You could pull her aside with her own dish of food to ensure she is getting enough. Maybe some extra vitamins.

Worms can also make runny poo. Have you wormed them?

I wormed them 3 weeks ago with Wazine. I just threw down some of their grower feed and although she pecked at it, she wasn't eating any of it. Earlier today, I put out some fat free plain yogurt and hard boiled egg with vitamins and electrolytes, and she did eat quite a bit of that, however. She's just lagging behind enough for me to notice there's something wrong.

So, can I worm them, then treat them for cocci, as well?

Good on the worming. Did you do a follow up worming or just the one time?

I am on the fence with treating for cocci. I wish I could be of more help on this, but I just don't know.

I would suggest to seperate her just so you can get a good look at ALL her droppings and symptoms. Maybe give her some more of that mash she loved so much. Then I wouldn't give her anything else until the morning so you can see how her crop does.

Best wishes and let us know how she is and anything you find in the morning.

Thanks everyone, I'm going to buy some Ivermectin, now. I only did the one application with the Wazine. I'll separate her tonight and keep her in my house. She's such a sweetie. I'd really hate to lose her.
