You see that red bar on his wing? That's something that sometimes shows REALLY early. It looks like a darker shade of gray at first giving a blotchy appearance to the chick's blue coloring and then the red can start to show there in the juvenile feathering stages. It's a certain sign, too, unlike trying to gauge comb size with no others of the same age to compare against.

So the post says 6 weeks and I don’t think you’re from where I am but a hatchery. Does that make any difference?

Since YOU know what hatchery it is, but will not tell others, you can look on their actual website to see what breeds they advertise that match your chick.

Different hatcheries have different inventory. They do NOT all have the exact same breeds all the time. And, they may use different terms for the same breeds. Knowing which hatchery narrows down what you may have.

Many hatcheries (in the states) ship live chicks to 48 states. Some of the biggest ones are hoovers, meyers, mcmurray, and cackle. People won't know your location if you've ordered from a hatchery that ships, if that was your holdup, but they can help you figure out what you received.

If you had purchased from a store, many stores in the states seem to be working with Hoovers right now. But people might know if a chain is working with a different company.

These are some reasons why people are asking where you got the bird. You want to know if you got what you paid for. They're doing their best to get you that answer.

You specifically said "French Black Copper Marans", so I'm guessing that's what the hatchery called it.

Not all hatcheries add "French" at the front of their Marans listings.
Hoovers is one that does

Hoovers also sells French Blue Copper Marans.

For whatever reason, you're resistant to the idea of it being Blue. It's just what the feather color is called. It's carrying 1 copy of Blue (BBS) which is a dilution of black. It is visibly a blue feathered bird, not a black feathered bird.

Either a chick was accidentally mislabeled, accidentally switched, or they filled an order with a similar breed/color if they didn't have the one ordered.
