I am very curious as to the breeds for these two. Came from the same batch, the rest of their siblings have found their forever homes but I kept two. I’ve never seen the soft down (?) saddle feathers develop like that. The black one has a few feathers growing out of each leg as well. Anyway, everyone’s favorite game! Pullet? Or cockerel?
For reference, parent breeds are:

roo: Olive Egger

Hens: Olive Eggers, Barred rock, Easter Egger, Salmon Faverolle, Sapphire gem, Black star, Gold star.

Both are pullets, in my opinion.

The white one's mother is probably the Red Star.

The black one's mother could be a dark olive or Easter egger, the barred rock, the black star or the Sapphire Gem, depending on what color the rooster is.

I was initially banking on the salmon faverolle being the white one’s momma, but red star makes sense too! I have no idea what the dad looks like

I thought of that, too, but it has no feathering on the legs, no beard, no 5th toe. So I ruled out Faverolles based on those things.
Super smart! The black one does have very light feathering down the side of the legs. It’s not enough to be cute…yet. It kind of looks like hair growing pimples 😂 I haven’t counted toes though…

Olive eggers typically have lightly feathered legs, so that's where it comes from. This comes from the Marans parent in olive eggers.
