Gender changing white Call duck

I do remember last year there were a few posts about how a drakes penis would fall off after breeding season so maybe Lou's will and then he'll be back to female. ;)

Same goes for a hen growing male specific feathers or plumage.
I believe it happens but never seen it.

I've seen it once in my lifetime - I'll be 78 in July. :old.

A friend had a 4 or 5 year old RIR hen that 'transitioned' during/after a molt. She developed male specific feathering, comb enlarged, started crowing and treading hens. We had plans on necropsying her to check on the ovary aberration , but a fox spoiled those plans.

Crowing hens ? Never in a large fowl, but had several bantam hens that would crow.
