So I bought these chickens from Tractor Supply and they told me they were pullets and one of them is turning red early so I was wondering if you guys can help me is this a pullet or rooster.

I would say the one in the front is a cockerel.

Well they are Road Island Reds. And they told me that these were pullets and it is possible i could of gotten a cockrel. I got them in april 1st id say there about 6 weeks old

Yeah, 6 weeks is too young for a pullet to be that red.

Even if TSC didn’t get their chicks mixed up, the hatcheries still have a 10% error rate on sexing, so you just got the unlucky 1 in 10.

I have another question. These two just hatched and the black one was chirping and walkin around and now hes laying down flopped should i be worried?

In the picture, they just look like they are sleeping. They sleep a lot when first hatched. But when they wake up, they should be pretty steady on their feet.
