Hello everyone! This is my first flock of chickens and I decided to get "barnyard mix" straight run chicks from a local farmer. I figured that if there was ever a time I could accommodate for multiple roosters it would be before I had other birds. Now I think I'm pretty cockerel heavy haha but I'd like to name them so I'm hoping your trained eyes can help me guess their sexes. So without further adieu, these are my 5 week old chicks:

CHICK 1:

CHICK 2: Pretty sure this is a cockerel. He's so small and cute with his big-man comb and wattle

CHICK 3: Feather-legged (not sure if that makes a difference because this and my other feather legger were slower to feather)

CHICK 4: Also feather legged. Comb/wattle are yellow and small so guessing pullet?

CHICK 5: Pullet?

CHICK 6: Another strongly suspected little cockerel!

CHICK 7: Roo?

Thank you I look forward to your guesses even if I have 7 roosters

Thank you everyone. Number 5 was the only one I had named because I had a feeling she (and maybe number 4) were the only girls. I will probably get and post better pictures of #4 for confirmation. Well, the boys will get names and a "bachelor coop" and the roos that can get along are welcome to stay. But it looks like Vea (#5) will need a few FEMALE friends asap!

4 and 5 look like pullets the rest... sorry! lol at least it looks like you got one pullet if not two. I bought a 'mixed' group of 7 and ALL 7 were boys... thanks to tractor supply for their 'straight run'... hmmmm

If the wattles coming in on 4 are red, it definitely poinst to cockerel, though I agree that 1/5 being pullets is pretty normal for straight run!
