This is my 5 week old Cuckoo Marans/SSH chick. It was the only chick to survive my first broody hatch and integrating it into the flock has been impossible. It's currently the house chicken until it's big enough to command some respect or will get fitted for a chicken diaper - if it's a hen. So what do ya'll think? Prior to getting beat up, I swear its comb was redder and it has a very upright posture. My guess was cockerel. Of course everyone is hoping for hen so it can stay in the house.
