Gender help on 7-9wk old d'uccles and silkies

I wish I had a better photo of #9. I am leaning towards hen with that one, but time will tell. It actually looks a lot like #8 in size and shape and everything and #8 is pretty clearly a hen. Lately #9 has gotten a bit of a taller comb, but I've seen photos of some d'uccle hens with taller combs. Oh, and the roos are definitely bigger than the other two. They are all the same age. If #9 is a rooster, could it just be developing rooster looks weeks later? I've been pretty sure the other two are roosters for a few weeks now.

It is nice to hear from all you more experienced chick raisers!

this is 3000% a cockerel you can not only tell by the comb and its redness (pullets will not get red until they are about to lay at 6+ months of age) but also by its coloring...you only have one d'uccle pullet out of the 4 d'uccle and im 3000% sure. you can go look at my d'uccle album to see all my d'uccle. pullets wont have combs like that at all their combs stay fairly small as my porcelain is around 8-9 months.

i thought one of mine was a pullet until it was 10 weeks old (took it 10 weeks to develop into cockerel looks) then it just like that one again pullets do not develop that dark red on the wings at all in any breed.

Thanks so much for the information! I looked at your photos and I definitely see what you mean. I think the photos I saw must not have actually been d'uccle hens. The roosters looked similar to yours (but then, so do a lot of roosters in general) and I haven't had roosters before, but the hens looked very different except maybe for the feather coloring! Also, it's good to know that it takes longer for some to develop. I think that was throwing me more than anything. This is our first time raising chicks and it is so fun! Except for the fact that I might not be able to keep as many as I'd hoped!

One of the d'uccle roosters likes to peck at us when we try to pick him up. He has been doing this for weeks. Any chance of that changing or his he a good candidate for not keeping? The other two are very nice so far. That will be a harder choice. I'm fond of them! My hubby might, that is MIGHT, let me keep one d'uccle rooster.
