Hi everyone!
So about 2 months ago I purchased what was supposed to be 6 pullets from someone off of Craigslist. I really needed more pullets as I had 2 cockerels and I didn’t need anymore but needed more hens to prevent overbreeding. They are all about 16 weeks old. Well now everyone is starting to reach maturity and today I saw one of my recently purchased “pullets” on top of a hen and I don’t see how I didn’t see he was a he before. Waterfall type feathers on tail, comb getting redder but I assumed it was just a hen because his comb wasn’t as big as the other rooster with a similar comb. So now I need some help and advice. Can you please let me know the gender of the other 5? I want to make sure I have pullets and not cockerels!
The advice I need is would you contact the seller about this? I would say when I purchased them they were around 6/7 weeks old. I’m pretty upset about it as now I have 3 roosters. All are getting along as of now, I let them free range everyday almost all day. I’m sure things will escalate once they reach full maturity but I have a plan in place in case the aggression gets out of hand. (Completely separate Rooster coop) They were around 25 dollars each. The black one is the one I now know is a rooster!
