3 months old. Sweet girls...(we hope) Hen or Roos? The white one is a beauty but my guess would be he's the he. Or the only she as it's always been a little different looking than the other 2. TIA

The Grey's have the V comb.
Welcome to BYC! :frow

No, it's not V.. it's just a "butt crack" (as my daughter and I affectionately call it) in the middle of the walnut comb. We call those ones the little butt heads! V doesn't connect at the top. It is quite interesting to see the variations that occur in walnut combs. My gender assessment is the same as others.. noting I'm just an enthusiast not an expert on Silkie sexing.

Looks like a fun and cute flock. :love

Love the buttcrack description!

OP, silkies should have a walnut comb not a V comb anyway. At this age, if their comb looks swollen and raised or has any reddish tinge to it would indicate a cockerel. Pullets should have fairly flat black patches of tough skin as a comb. Bumpy only as much as sandpaper is.

Male stance, body shape and crest streamers are a better indicator usually, before comb comes into it with young silkies IME. It does vary with different strains and quality of birds though. Some are easier to tell than others.
