Gender - Help

We have hatched some quails for the first time ever. I would really appreciate if someone Could to help with the gender on them.

1, 11, 12, 16, 15, and 17, I'm not sure.
2, 4, 6, 7, 10, 13, 14, 18, and 19 are roos.
3, 5, 8, 9, are hens.

Congrats on your hatch! I'm new to all this and know there are exceptions for head darkness on some but my understanding is if they are not Pharaoh or Pharaoh base (spiky looking back feathers) they cannot be feather sexed. So to my new eyes 1, 9, 15, and 16 would need to be vent sexed.

More experienced quail owners please correct me if I'm wrong on this.

I agree, but 3, 5, and 8 I still have some doubts.

That's what I'd say too at this point.

Wow that’s a lot of males
They are 4 weeks now. Those that look like males can they change to female over the next couple of weeks or am I just really unlucky with my hatch?

In my experience, no, an orange chest is a male. Fingers crossed the non feather sexables are hens.

Okay thanks.. Not exactly what I hoped to hear. But I think I’ll hatch some more, and hope there are more hens in that batch. Thanks everyone
