I'm new to EEs, and I have 2. I'm thinking this is a cockerel. At 5 1/2 weeks there are 3 clearly defined rows on the fairly red comb. The feather pattern is all over the place with brown, black, mahogany, and dark gray. This one does NOT like to be touched and is constantly chest-bumping my other cockeral (who just started crowing yesterday). Unfortunately I can't keep anything the neighbors would consider a "nuisance", so I need to confirm that this chick needs rehomed. Thanks in advance for your input!

and next to my other EE (who is on the left) for comparison...

Thanks! I was sure I had 2 cockerels (out of the 5 I bought as pullets

), but wanted to be sure before he goes. Oh, gee, guess I'll just have to get more and try again!

Am I right that the other looks like a pullet? Small, single row of peas on the comb with no color yet. That combined with the feather pattern tells me girl, right?
