Hi all, I'm new to this breed, so apologies for my ignorance!! We purchased 4 x 8wk chickens of varying breeds about a month ago & I'm worried my SLW may be a cockeral. In fact, I'm 99% positive due to (his) wattle, but I just need confirmation. Please see photos...

I don't know anything about slw but it's possible that breed just has big combs and wattles (some breeds are like that) cause the stance and feathers seem more like a pullet, but definitely get an opinion of someone that knows slw

I was thinking the same thing! It posture and feathers look female but the tail feathers are slower and significant Combs/wattles which looks more male! I would wait and hear from someone more familiar with the that breed! I had some years ago but not recent enough to give you a good opinion!

Three more photos taken today - now aged 13wks...

any updates?

I have a SLW that I am unsure of myself, so I've been reading the forums and looking at pictures and I was curious....
