well tell your husband he can say that Miss Kitty will be the prettiest boy at the campfire.

he's for sure a cowpoke. he may not crow if another cockerel whooped him once in a fight. it's just their way. he may be picking on the ladies because he's frustrated and trying to establish his position. as they get closer to full maturation, they will keep reestablishing the peck order.

FYI about crowing...the smaller the bird, the higher the pitch and more syllables. the bigger the deeper and less syllables. (more like howling.)​

Yup i agree it's a rooster, and that lakenvelder really caught my attention! i've seen pictures but theres just something about him...

Big Red has absolutely no indication of spurs and I mean nothing. Is this normal ? I think DH is on the way to accepting Miss Kitty as a roo................................................... I am only trying to learn and thanks for all your help.

Give him some time, a lot of them never get spurs until 5-6 months.​
