This 4 to 4 1/2 month old peep is half Easter Egger and half Buff Orpington. I fear it is a he, but I want it to be a she. Can somebody help based on these pics?

From the first pic it looks like a pullet. Pretty girl! Theiis a great cross, I love both of these breeds! Update us on what color eggs it lays!!!

Going by the tail which is straight up and no curl. Lack of wattles and the pink comb - I am guessing Pullet.

Thank you! This is encouraging. She/he is the sweetest thing, and of course is at the bottom of the pecking order. I may have to stop calling her Miguel, and switch to Maya instead.

How sure are you on the age? The darker patches on the wings sure make me think male, but if the age is correct it should have lots more male characteristics. I'm thinking the bird is younger and male, but better/closer pics would help.

He/she is at least 4 months. I'll see if I can get a better picture.

One more thing: He/she is pretty timid, and gets hen-pecked by some of the girls. But the big buff orpington rooster (its daddy) doesn't bother it at all.

Here are 5 more slightly better pictures of our 4 to 4 1/2 month-old peep. I hope these make gender i.d. easier. She/he is the sweetest little thing, always on the periphery of the group of girls. The daddy rooster (buff orpington) ignores her/him, as does the mom (EE).
