These are 5-week-old black Orpingtons, same two parents. First one is definitely a cockerel--I left his photo in for reference. I have my opinions about the other three, but want to see what others (especially other Orp or "big comb/wattle" breed owners) think about the other three chicks. I've had Orps for 3 years, but none this color. These are the only photos I have, and I can't get more. Thanks in advance!

I'm going to say 2-4 are pullets and I think 3 could be one too. But leaning a little towards cockerel. Like you I haven't ever had black. My lavendar Orpington's I knew at a young age, my boys turned red and my girls comb stayed black.

Yes, the first is almost a positive roo. I think the middle two are hens, and I'm not sure on the last one, looks like a roos possibly to me. Its a bit too early to tell right now.
