Hmm, that comb looks small for a cockerel but I've had a few blindside me at 12 weeks. @AshVau22 I can see why you're on the fence.

@BigBlueHen53 I thought when the red leakage was isolated to the back, wings, shoulders that meant cockerel, but if the red was more even throughout, then it was female. . . ?

I'm still learning myself so I'm trying to refine my skills.

This one might need a little more time to be certain, but I think pullet. Right now nothing says male to me. Comb is small and pale.

And while Red shoulders is usually a male trait in easter eggers, that telltale red is usually a more rusty, less even color. The red on this bird's shoulders is the same shade as the red on the chest, neck, wings, and tail.

I've been stumped by EE before, so I could be wrong, they can be tricky, but I stand by my call. Females tend to be more subdued in color and even in pattern, and this one is very bold. Still say cockerel but we'll see.

I have a black Prairie Bluebell Egger hen with those lines on her feathers, which I'd never seen before. Nice to know they may be diagnostic characteristic.
