Gender??

Our surprise duckling is growing fast and is about the size of dad now. (Mom was a Peking). At about what age can we tell the gender? We are eager to know if this one is male or female. Posted is a photo of lucky duck, with dad in the background. Thanks!

what kind of noise are you hearing Females quack loud and drakes have a raspy voice. Sound like a heavy chain smoker. Beautiful ducks .

If you still can't tell from her sounds, pick her up and walk away with her. She'll let you know if she's a she or not, lol!

I am assuming dad is a Silver Appleyard, then, I believe you have a female. Appleyards are a breed where the males have solid dark feathers above the tail. I would do as suggested above and see if she quacks but I am pretty confident that you have a girl.
