Genders on Buff Orpingtons

What makes you say "very mature"?
Makes me think they're old! Lol!

Pale faces and rough feathering - some of it bleached out and uneven in coloring makes me think they have seen a few trips around the sun.

The pale faces make me think of graying on the face elderly dogs have. Maybe they are just anemic from worms or mites or something. Whatever, they weren't getting good care where they came from.

I was thinking maybe lack of sun? They've been in a barn their whole life. It was dark besides the one heat lamp.

Well, I actually hopped on board with the "golden girl" names,and named my 3 Dorothy,Blanch and Rose. The other will be my friends, she don't care if the one ends up hen or roo,but still named it Cassie!

being very optimistic on gender,and will definitely update over the next few weeks. Besides,I want to see how they change before I do end up putting them with my Orp roo!

I'm almost 100% sure those are females. I've raised Buff Orps hens for several years now and when they were that age, they looked exactly like those ones of yours.
