Probably going to hurt my own feelings with this, but here we go.
9 week old “americunas” (I think) from tractor supply. Are they Roos?
Also if anyone can explain the saddle feather thing to me….. I never really understand what I’m looking for.

Anything labeled straight run this year is male heavy.
Female ees are more uniform in color, not splotchey, the dark red feathers on the back of the shoulders also indicates male.

The two dark are colorful birds are males. In Easter Eggers, a splotchy pattern or rusty red coloring almost always indicate a male. Paired with bigger and redder combs and wattles, you've for sure got a cockerel. Female EEs typically have a clean even pattern.

You can start to see a little bit of the saddle feathers coming in on your boys, but they won't become more apparent until they're around 12 weeks old. Male saddle feathers are long and wispy and will be slightly shiny. Females are short and rounded.
