Hello all, glad to be here and learn more about the world of ducks! I have some basic questions that I could use some help with. We started with 2 Pekings last week, and yesterday I went to tractor supply to buy chicken wire and left with 4 Khaki Campbells. So we now have 6. I built a duck house that is 4x4x4 with a ramp that locks to close them in for the night. Is this size ok for 6 ducks? I'm also in the process of building a run out of pvc and chicken wire that will be 4ft(will but up against the house) and will spread out to 5ft at its widest point and will be 10ft long and 5ft high. is that an ok size?

I have included some pictures as well. The dog is Roxy (a 1 year old dalmatian) she loves the ducks so far and is fascinated by them and loves to just sit and watch them.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

PVC and chickenwire will provide no protection from predators.

You are not helping. I keep telling my self that I do not need ducks. I do not want ducks. I don't have space for ducks. I don't know if I would even like duck eggs. Male ducks are aggressive.
Then you go and post this photo.

How is one to resist a photo like this? I ask you how!?

Just know that I am now having to repeat my mantras...I do not want ducks. I don't have space for ducks. I don't know if I would even like duck eggs. Male ducks are aggressive.

4x4 for over night housing should be ok for 6 ducks, tight fit, but if just for the night, ok.
a 4x10 run. Is that the only space they will have during the day? If so, I don't think that's nearly enough for 6 ducks to be in all day. It will be a trampled muddy mess in no time.

They will be allowed out most days the run is more for the days we have work or will not be home to lock them up at night
