I feel a little dumb asking this but here it goes. What constitutes a generation in breeding? People are saying how it's safe to inbreed sometimes up to 3-4 generations and this would be helpful information if I knew how long or what a generation was haha so exactly what would my first generation be and then when would my second generation be?

lets say you have a hen and a roo you breed them thats the first generation then you breed the roo with the offspring thats the second generation and so on
