and would like to have an extra one.
Has anybody had experience with both of these and which is better/easier? Genesis is double the price so is it worth the extra money? Also does anybody know a cheap site to purchase one from? I would like peoples opinion on these....which are all going to be different Im sure, but I would still like to hear about your experiences and opinions. Thanks!!!

I'd take the Genesis, personally. Easier to set up is good. The normal Hovabator is supposed to be a little trickier to use. This is just what I've read. Sorry I can't be more helpful!

I can help here, I have both up and running right now. I have two Genesis and One Hovabator 1602. I wish I had THree Genesis, it is so worth the extra money.

The Genesis is pre-set and it holds temps perfectly. The HB 1602 varies it's temps all over the place, the humidity makes a difference to it as well. One day it spiked up to 108 F. I think I lost all my smaller silkie/SG eggs that day. It also goes low, then some days it stays constant for days. I have it in a basement where the temps never vary more than a couple of degrees, it stays 66 with 55% humidity there all the time.

The Genesis is literally plug and play, add eggs and forget about it till hatch time. I am using the HB for hatching only, and right now for brooding some tiny quail.

Hope this helps you decide.

i have both , the LG and a 1602 and i have just as good hatches in one as the other. it is all in the eggs that you set ( good or not )and how close to the marks that you set them and manage them at. i keep a hatch rate of about 95% most of the time, and have chicks hatch each friday of 50 weeks of the year. william

I only have the Hovabator 2 different models I can not remember the number right now and the LG incubator. The hovabators hold a much steadier temperature.

I love both my 1588's all you do is add water and plug in and temp shoots up to 99.5-100.5 and STAYS there. I payed 175$ for mine with auto turner and shipping from cutler supply. I recommend them for there prices and customer service. The preset temp on both my 1588's was right on the money. I think you just forget the styrofoam bators and just invest in a cabinet bator, you'll be much happier. Get a sportsman or a dickie

I would say genisis

Ours crapped out, and we are using a 1602 as a hatcher.

The genisis was rock steady when we were using it/

BTW, parts are a bit expensive.

I have the genisis and it's awesome!! Holds temp and humidity like a dream! I got ours at cutler's website for $132 and that's with shipping.I did alot of research and tried to find cheapest price and well I did I think.Good luck!!
