How do you control the humidity in the 1588 or can you? I was thinking of buying one of these. Can't really afford the cabinet ones. Is this a good incubator? I used to have a foam one many years ago and hatched out quail eggs by the dozens. But after reading posts on the forum it seems like many have troubles with the cheap foam ones. Thanks

You will absolutely LOVE your Hovabator 1588.
I have one (and will be order another next month).
If you follow the manufacturer's instructions and only add water when the humidity level DROPS significantly (about every 2-3 days -depending on where you live), you'll be fine.
This incubator is ready to go right out of the box (no tinkering with temp or humidity).
Just add water to the center trough and let it do its thing.

I only keep the hygrometer in there so I will know when the humidity drops about 20%.
The Hovabator will keep the humidity at around 45% with the center trough filled.
When it drops to the 20's, I add some more water, and I find this to be about every 3 days.

There are LOTS of threads about the Genesis 1588 and I would suggest reading them as well.

Good luck with your future hatches!
