Prolapsed Phallus

When my little Call Duck had a prolapse it was the size of a quarter hanging out of him. I sterilized everything and amputated the infected part and then sprayed him with vetericyn wound care that I got from TSC. That was over 2 years ago and he is just fine. He can still use it and has recovered with no ill effect. I had read that if I did not do it the infection would enter his body and he would die. This is why I did what I did. You handle yours however you decide but this worked for me. Good luck.

My Welsh Harlequin drake had it, he is just under 2 years old. I've tried everything, he lived indoors in my dining room for 4 weeks whilst I was treating him and after a month it did retract back (well, at least it was gone in the mornings in the last week). I must say it was not the normal corkscrew shape, but rather a straight-ish worm. So, I put him back outside to his ladies and ...boom, it was back out again. It did not bother him and one day I've noticed that nothing hangs down anymore.
He is now just standing on top of his ladies when they are asking for some fun, but nothing comes out. I assume he self amputated his own part. He is still very much himself and healthy otherwise.
