Genesis running a little high(101.5)

I plugged my Genesis 1588 in 3 days ago & reset the factory settings. Temp with SpotCheck was right at 100 - 100.3. I put the eggs in last night, and now my temps are running anywhere from 101.3 - 101.8. Any suggestions?

I would adjust the temp personally down to 99.5 and give it an hour or so to become stable.

Are you using forced air or still air? Still air should be around 101.5, in which case I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Forced air.... should be around 99.5. I guess I'll tinker with it, just hate to start adjusting with eggs already in there. *Fingers crossed that my spotcheck is as reliable as claime*

I have a 1588 Genesis HB too. I have trouble keeping my temps high enough. If I run a heater 24/7 then it stays right at 99-100 but if thee isn't a heater ( like this morning ) then it goes down to 97-96!

That's why I like my Mini Advanced....it keeps a stable temp - 99.6-99.8 But...you can't fit as many eggs as in the HB!

I've got that part figured out

. I keep it in a walk in utility room, w/ one of those little electric fan heaters. So the room stays 70-75. Works pretty good that way!
