genetic pool/out crossing?

How often/how many generations before you need to add new genetic stock to your breeding programs to prevent genetic depression within your lines from to much inbreeding?

I have read somewhere around 25 times. Brother to sister will be different than father to daughter, but birds don't have the same genetic hiccups (assuming good genetic stock to start with)that mammals do. Perhaps some of our genetic gurus will have better info?

I add new blood every year. This next year it might come from Buttercup Chillin as part of the co-op. Last year I think it came from some of Quail Lady's eggs I bought off ebay.
