This is a mutt pullet that hatched from my laying flock. Dad has to be a big black and gold EE. Mom could be anyone, the hen that brooded was stealing eggs from everyone. I love her calico mess of colors. Does this color combo have a name?? Any ideas on what genes could make her color?? I would love to hatch more like her. Any suggestion on what type of Roo I could breed her with to keep these colors??

Looks like a young silver duckwing developing her final plumage to me. She might have some other genes in there though. How old is she?


The black patterning on the back and the salmon breast are a duckwing trait.


To keep those colors, breed her to any EE rooster that carries white or yellow coloration on him. Try and focus on one with a black breast though, to keep the salmon on her breast.
