Two of my three Easter egger eggs hatched this morning and I was very surprised to see a barred rock looking chick be the product of one. It hatched out of a green egg, provided that it is a female, what are the chances of it laying green eggs? Or is there no way to tell without knowing more info?
It's an Easter egger barred rock cross and the dad was the barred rock and the mom was the Easter egger.

good chance for a greenish egg if it has a pea type comb (and a female

Hopefully this is the start of a pea comb! This chick is very outgoing and this is the closest still picture I could get haha
But I will keep checking everyday for the pea comb :)

I sure hope so, if not ill try and see if I can breed it in. I love the colored eggs but I love the plumage of barred birds. Its more of a fun thing for me to do at this point :D
