Hey guys,

My son would like to breed coronation and lavender sussex. We have girls of both colour. Will a lavender roo with coronation girls make some coronation bubs?

Also is buff only achieved by buff to buff? Just wondering if we got a couple of buff hens with a lavender rop - would they be buff as lavender is normally recessive?

Thank you

Lavender and Coronation produces lavender with gold, golden, or silver leakage.
Buff is only achievable by crossing buff to buff.
Chicken phenotypes are not achieved by one gene. The lavender gene is recessive but the lavender phenotype is on the black base and black is dominant. Therefore, lavender with buff would produce black with silver, golden, or gold leakage.
It is only in subsequent generations that you will get the colors you want.
