genetics of buff?

Can someone explain to me, or point me to a site that explains, the genetic basis of buff coloration? (e.g. recessive or dominant or what; what other alleles of its gene are there; and what if anything does it modify/get modified by?)

Just curious, but having trouble finding the information.

First of all, buff birds are usually (if not always) Wheaten.
Then alot of other genes come into play.
I know where there is an online book about buff, breeding buffs in fact. But I dont know if if would have that info.
