hi. i have a very nice flock ((25)) of adult seramas. also a pen of 50+ of janurary of this yrs hatching. i started with a trio of chicks maybe 5-6 yrs ago. since then ive kept hen chicks & few roosters from hatchings. i have not bought in any new seramas ,, no new blood lines...
last yr. i had several that hatched with some skimppy leg feathering..also several with silkie feathering. this yr ..i have a few silkie looking seramas and a very pretty looks to be a white mille fleur markings roo with leg feathering.
question is with a locked flock, with in breeding is this the result? should i have not been in breeding ? and look for a new rooster (s) ??
i do have 2 little hens that i feel maybe carrying the silkie type genes..both have a gray- green -slate colored legs..one has blue ear lobes. both hens are from second & third yr chicks.
i was under the impression that the mille fleurs used were the OE mille fleurs , legs are not feathered, in orginal breeding . none of my flock has the mille fleur color pattern other then this one.
any advice would be appreciated..thank you.
