Genetics question about Bantam and Standard sizes...

I really want to try and get the chocolate frizzle Polish into the standard size Polish... How should I go about doing this? I have two frizzled WC chocolate Polish bantam Roos to start with... One is WC chocolate and one is chocolate cookoo... I have several standard Polish hens... I know the best colors to breed to get chocolates would be the black standard Polish hens to the chocolate roos... But then should I keep a Roo offspring to reproduce with the standard hens next year and do that for three generations and then would I be able to call them true standards???? Any ideas would be appriciated... Also how should I do it to not have to much inbreeding involved??? Thanks

There is nothing wrong with "inbreeding" as long as it is done right. Put "line breeding" into the search and you should come up with information on it. I don't know a lot about chocolate but I know it depends on if they are true chocolate or dun but I don't know a lot about it. You would only be able to call them standard in 3 generations if they were up to the standard size in 3 generations.

The bantamising gene is sex linked, so the optimum mating to increase size is standard male over a bantam hen, which if I read correctly you don't have. I would mate the birds as you planned and then produce two lines. The first from the largest F1 cockerel to standard hens, and the second the largest cockerel from mating the F1 siblings together, this cockerel to your standard hens.
